Dr. Rossini earned her doctoral degree from Loyola University Chicago. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and has an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school psychology endorsement. Dr. Rossini began her career working in the inner City of Chicago. While living and working in Chicago, Dr. Rossini was intrigued by a small inclusive fine arts program known as Gallery 37. Gallery 37 was offered in a handful of Chicago elementary schools for children with disabilities. The positive impact of this inclusive art opportunity was the topic and focus of Dr. Rossini's dissertation research at Loyola. After working for a decade in the Chicago Public Schools, Dr. Rossini returned to her Western suburban roots, working first for a special education cooperative in Glen Ellen and then for Lombard School District 44.
Dr. Rossini has 20 years of experience working in public and parochial school settings, helping families identify and address learning and behavior problems that impact school functioning. She has considerable experience evaluating students for special education services (within the RTI and multidisciplinary team framework); supporting students' social emotional and behavioral health; and planning educational services from early childhood through high school. She plays a prominent role in managing multidisciplinary staff conferences and supervising the development of student Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Section 504 Plans. Dr. Rossini assists school teams in determining which instructional programs and strategies are research-based and proven to improve learning outcomes. She promotes Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curricula that build student resilience and reinforce staff awareness, communication, socialization, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills.
Dr. Rossini has specialized training and expertise in several areas including: special education law, positive behavior intervention, teacher consultation, academic intervention, Response to Intervention (RTI), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Section 504, Individual Education Plans (IEP), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety Disorder, Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). Dr. Rossini also supervises and trains school psychology student interns. She enjoys bringing her school-based knowledge set to private practice with the goal of student advocacy. Dr. Rossini is passionate about helping parents appreciate their Child’s individual learning and emotional traits, and promoting the best home and school experience for families.
Because many children experience difficulties from time to time in the areas of social relationships, managing emotions, and making decisions, Dr. Rossini provides direct services to children addressing issues such as depression, attention, anxiety, and adjustment issues. She believes such children can benefit from social/emotional learning strategies, which promote communication, social skill development, problem-solving, coping, and anger management. In a counseling setting, her goal is to help families assess and understand their child's learning and emotional needs. Through individual and group counseling, she teaches positive coping and resilience, so that children can thrive not only at home and in school, but in life.
Dr. Rossini grew up in Hinsdale, Illinois. She is married and has three children and currently resides in nearby Clarendon Hills. She understands the challenges of parenting for which no amount of education can fully prepare you!
