Ms. Christina, MS., CCC - SLP
Licensed and Certified Speech/Language Pathologist
Feeding Therapist
Elmhurst Location
Christina chose this field because growing up, she was a 1-on-1 inclusion support aide for children with diverse abilities at surrounding park district summer camps. She learned how to help children effectively communicate and participate in social settings, support self-regulation skills, and promote positive experiences with their peers. This experience fostered her desire to be a part of a field that supports children with their overall communication skills.
She values the importance of forming positive relationships with patients and their families to foster therapeutic success. She strives to support each child holistically by collaborating with our multidisciplinary team of therapists to best support the child as a whole.
Ms. Christina expands her knowledge through continuing education courses on topics such as Gestalt Language Processing, sensory and motor based feeding disorders, motor speech disorders, and more.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Ms. Christina has her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Elmhurst University. She completed her Master's research on the principles of mindfulness and its impact on self-regulation and therapy outcomes in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
In her spare time she enjoys yoga, spending time with family and friends, cooking new recipes, and reading.
Her favorite quote is "Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does"- William James
