About Hummingbird's Hippotherapy Program
What is Hippotherapy?
Our Hippotherapy Program is a unique therapeutic experience that incorporates physical, occupational, and speech therapy and/or counseling while your child is on a horse. Instead of learning to ride, your child benefits from the gentle, rhythmic movements of the horse. This helps improve muscle tone, strength, balance, and coordination.
Each child's treatment plan is customized to meet their specific needs and may include activities off the horse. In the barn setting, children also work on functional goals while experiencing the therapeutic effects of the horse's movement.
