Hummingbird Children's Academy is a one-of-a-kind therapeutic enrichment program in the western suburbs with locations in Westmont and Woodridge.
The play-based curriculum is designed and implemented by pediatric specialists and therapists in the fields of speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, developmental therapy, physical therapy, counseling and reading.
The Academy was created to provide children with a small group, therapeutic and educational experience. Therapist-led lessons and activities are geared towards children's social emotional development. Your child will learn critical skills such as relationship building, perseverance and problem solving. Kids also love playing in our two professionally designed sensory play gyms where they develop their play and gross motor skills through climbing, swinging, running and jumping.
Academy Programs Include:
Our Academy Programs
Two day a week program that promotes children's cognitive and social-emotional development through play-based activities. Social language and skills are taught and modeled like sharing, turn taking and being part of a group. These fun and interactive activities promote cognitive development, problem solving, imagination and social skills, building your child's confidence.
Four day a week program, focusing on early literacy skills, sensory play and expanding your child's imagination. Weekly themed lessons and activities are engaging, challenging and fun.
Four day a week program and is for children who are more independent with lessons and activities focused on higher level skills. This program is geared towards children who are looking for enrichment activities and kindergarten readiness.
Spaces are limited to ensure each child receives individual attention. Registration is not guaranteed until deposit is received. Parents can choose their first time preference, but Hummingbird reserves the right to place the child in the group that our therapists feel would maximize their instruction and set them up for success.
