Jamie Meyer, MSOT, OTR/L
Licensed Occupational Therapist
Jamie has a passion for helping children develop their independence and skill development. She utilizes a play-based approach to motivate each child to meet his/her goals without even realizing they are working. She enjoys getting down to their level and including a variety of fine motor, visual motor and sensory processing activities within play schemes to encourage participation. Jamie is a big believer in a multi-sensory approach to learning. She loves being able to see children actively learning and the look of pride on their faces when they finally meet a goal they have been working on.
Jamie received a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and went on to receive a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.
Jamie has completed the following continuing education courses/training: Developing and Implementing Effective Sensory Diets for Children and Adolescents, Learning without Tears Pre-K Readiness & Writing, and Learning without Tears K-5 Handwriting.
In Jamie's free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, cooking and playing with dogs.
